Generalities



Delaware located on the Atlantic Coast in the Mid-Atlantic región of the United States. It is bordered to the south and west by Maryland, to the northeast by New Jersey, and to the north by Pennsilvania.
Delaware is divided into three countries. From north to south, these three cuntries are New Castle, Kent and Sussex. While the southern two countries have historically been predomiantly agricultural, New Castle County has been more industrialized.
Delaware has an área of 2,459 square miles (6,452km2) and a population of 917,092 residents.

Delaware's educational system is centralized in a state Superintendent of Education, with local school boards retaining control over taxation and some curriculum decisions
The Delaware Department of Education had authorized the founding of 25 charter schools in the state, among them one all-girls facility


While Delaware has no places designated as national parks, national seashores, national battlefields, national memorials, or national monuments, it does have several museums, wildlife refuges, parks, houses, lighthouses, and other historic places. Delaware is home to the second longest twin span suspension bridge in the world, the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
